RESEARCH MANAGEMENT: PRACTICE, METHODS AND PROCEDURES IN EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH
Date: 28th August, 2024 | Location: GOOGLEMEET | Time: W.A.M PROMPT
Introduction
The International Virtual Workshop on “Research Management: Practice, Methods, and Procedures in Educational Research” aims to address the growing need for robust research management frameworks that can navigate the complexities of educational research. This workshop brings together scholars, educators, and research managers from around the world to explore best practices, innovative methodologies, and effective procedures that can enhance the quality and efficiency of educational research.
Educational research is foundational in shaping policies, improving teaching practices, and advancing our understanding of learning processes. However, managing research in this field involves numerous challenges, including securing funding, ensuring ethical compliance, and effectively disseminating findings. This workshop seeks to provide participants with practical insights into managing these challenges through a combination of theoretical discussions and real-world case studies. By focusing on both the practice and the procedural aspects of research management, this event will help attendees refine their skills and adopt new strategies that are aligned with contemporary research needs.
The workshop will cover a broad range of topics, including research design, data management, publication strategies, and the integration of technology in research processes. Special emphasis will be placed on the application of innovative methods that can streamline research activities and enhance outcomes. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts in the field, participate in interactive sessions, and collaborate with peers to develop actionable solutions that can be implemented in their own research environments.
Ultimately, the goal of this workshop is to empower educational researchers and managers with the tools and knowledge necessary to conduct high-quality research that can drive educational innovation and improvement. As we navigate the challenges and opportunities of research management in the 21st century, this workshop serves as a platform for fostering collaboration, sharing best practices, and setting the stage for future advancements in educational research.
Workshop Objectives
- Enhance Understanding of Research Management: To provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the key principles, practices, and procedures involved in managing research projects within the field of education. This includes exploring the various roles and responsibilities of research managers, the lifecycle of research projects, and the importance of strategic planning in achieving research goals.
- Explore Innovative Research Methods and Tools: To introduce participants to innovative research methods, tools, and technologies that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of educational research. This includes demonstrating how digital tools, data analytics, and collaborative platforms can be leveraged to enhance research processes, from data collection to dissemination.
- Strengthen Skills in Research Design and Methodology: To deepen participants’ knowledge and skills in research design, methodology, and data analysis. This will involve practical sessions on selecting appropriate research methods, designing studies that address relevant educational questions, and applying rigorous analytical techniques to produce credible and impactful findings.
- Foster Ethical and Responsible Research Practices: To emphasize the importance of ethical considerations and responsible conduct in educational research. This objective aims to guide participants in understanding ethical guidelines, managing data privacy issues, and ensuring the integrity and reproducibility of their research.
- Facilitate Networking and Collaboration: To provide a platform for participants to network, share experiences, and build collaborations with peers and experts in the field of educational research management. This will help in creating a global community of practice that supports the continuous exchange of knowledge, resources, and best practices.
- Develop Strategies for Effective Research Dissemination: To equip participants with strategies for effectively disseminating their research findings to diverse audiences, including academic peers, policymakers, and practitioners. This includes exploring various dissemination channels such as academic publications, conferences, and digital media, and understanding how to tailor communication to maximize impact.
- Address Challenges in Educational Research Management: To identify and address common challenges faced in the management of educational research, such as securing funding, managing interdisciplinary teams, and aligning research with institutional priorities. Participants will gain insights into overcoming these challenges through case studies, expert talks, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
